33rd International Conference on Information Systems - ICIS 2012

December 18, 2012

The Association for Information Systems – AIS ( and the 33rd International Conference on Information Systems – ICIS 2012 are proud to continue the successful CIO Symposium program. The goal of the symposium is to facilitate a productive dialogue between the academic and CIO communities, thus narrowing the gap between research and practice.

Format for the 2012 CIO Symposium

1. All ICIS participants are invited to the CIO Symposium (no fee)
2. Panels comprised of leading international academic researchers and CIOs
3. The focus will be on increased interaction between academics and CIOs on trends/issues recognized
4. Each Professor will have 10 minutes to cover their research topic. That will be followed by each CIO discussing the relevance of the research to their organization. Professors will then have 3-5 minutes to discuss the CIO comments. As time permits, questions from the audience will be entertained.
5. The sessions will address three important themes:

  • Managing IT Resources
  • Emerging Technologies
  • Innovative IT

The dialogue that will ensue during the symposium will have the two communities engaging in deep discussion clarifying strategic issues that face CIOs around the world.
